At 18 years of age Ray emigrated to England where he trained for three years to become a professional performer and a teacher of Dance and Drama. He graduated in 1978 and his debut as a professional was Evita at the Prince Edward Theatre, West End London. Ray moved from one musical to another in the West End; shows include: Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Showboat, Mutiny!, Winnie, West Side Story, Budgie and many more. Ray also became known for his role as Franco Pedretti in “All Creatures Great and Small” and continued his acting career with the BBC and Granada Television in Soaps and Drama.
In 1995 Ray moved to Malta, his birthplace, with his wife Alison and son Oliver. To date Ray`s portfolio increased considerably when he formed a new Musical Theatre Company and school. Ray became a producer/director and a performer in many shows such as Sound of Music, Fame, Fiddler on the Roof, Godspell, Blood Brothers, Les Miserables in Concert, Joseph…, Shirley Valentine, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell and many more. His achievement in producing and training was rewarded by making his students stars in the West End and the UK.
Ray`s latest achievement has been taking part in the latest film “Agora”. He intends to concentrate on obtaining more roles in major movies. That is his ultimate goal.
